What does a windscreen replacement involve?

The basic process of replacing a windscreen is simple-

After removing the windscreen wipers, exterior trims and any interior accessories, the seal under the glass is cut using specialised auto-glass tools. Once the glass is lifted out, any remaining glue on the surface is removed before cleaning and priming.

We use Milwaukee caulking guns to place an even bead of urethane around the edge of the new windscreen before carefully fitting it into your vehicle.

Any trims and accessories are refitted to the vehicle before cleaning, checking and calibrating (if applicable).

calibrating safety cameras attached to your windscreen

If you have a newer vehicle, chances are it has at least one advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) attached to the windscreen. These features play an important part in the safety of your vehicle. Capable of alerting you to hazards and speed limit changes, adjusting auto-dipping headlights and sometimes engaging driver assistance like emergency breaking or lane-keeping assistance (Forward Collision Warning & Lane Departure Warning).

After having your windscreen replaced, scanning and calibrating the cameras ensures they are functioning properly.

We can calibrate your windscreen on-site after your windscreen replacement. Getting you back on the road quickly and safely.

Don't let a damaged windscreen slow you down!
